Editing the film
Our film uses lots of effects! we have used slow motion, speeded a clip up, changed a clips colours and used different transitions.
Editing our film was very simple because we did it in stages, first we put all the clips together and cut them down.
Then we added the different effects to the clips we thought needed it, we trialled lots of different effects for our film but chose the final effects. We then added any transitions we thought necessary to our story.
Once our film was roughly done we put the titles in and edited and added transitions.
After the film was finished we edited the sound, muting and adding our own music and already created music to our film and badaboom....it was done!

Production Logo
We didn't have a clue what to call ourselves so we came up with Satanic Productions because it agreed with our film genre and our storyline.
We created it ourselves using photoshop, Gemma created it because me and Jess didn't have a clue how to work photoshop :S but we helped come up with the design!

Film Music
The original music was created by me and Jess but because we added a few more titles it wasn't long enough, so me and Gemma had to re-create it again but longer.
We made it using garage band and three instruments, we used musical typing to create it so we completely made it from scratch.

Final Film
Somethings wrong with the titles guysss....I think we missed one off and it says and Gemma Jackson twice :L
Makeup Prep
The wig was luxurious, but we needed it to be disgusting.
I got a dollop of conditioner and ran it through the wig with my fingers until the wig looked greasy and revolting.
We had to put the wig on backwards so the long hair was over the face, it looked funny from the back cos it had a short fringe :D

Makeup Prep
The makeup was very long winded.
We had to start off by painting white body paint onto Gemma. The paint was very thin and took two layers. We also had to experiment by putting the paint on using different techniques, we ended up putting it on with wet cotton wool pads.
The makeup wasn't very even so we had to use talcum powder to try and blend it in.
We then used eye shadows to make bruises over the body.
Then we used black eyeliner to draw satanic symbols onto the arms and neck.
Before we finally did the face. We used black eyeliner and eye shadow for the eyes and made dirty marks on the face.

Production Logo Analysis
The layout of this logo is simple, there is a picture in the background with the writing on top.
The font looks as if it is melting/dripping down. It reminds me of blood, especially with the colour being red.
The colours of the background picture are very dull which makes the bright red writing stand out more. The dark, dull colours are used to show you how eerie the image is. The bright red is used to represent danger or maybe even blood, these conventions fit with a horror theme.
The framing of the image is used to emphasize the fact the castle on the hill is very lonely as it doesn't just show you the castle but shows you the landscapes all around it, giving you a sense of location.
I think the writing, the font, is more of an icon then the background image because the image in the background is so common and conforms to the horror conventions.

The logo sets the tone for a horror film because of the different aspects, the font, colours and pictures. The picture in the background is of an isolated castle on a hill surrounded by woods full of dead trees. They create a horror mood because the dead trees symbolize that nothing is alive, also the branches are very spiky and could mean danger. The castle on the hill is very lonely and high up, we can't see how you would get out from up there, so it represents a theme of entrapment. These images fit in with the generic conventions of horror.

Reflective Evaluation
This is the columbia pictures logo for the Grudge 2. This logo represents a demon/ghost film well and creates fear. The logo starts off normal and fine but then the lights go out and it appears, this is a typical convention in ghost/demon horror films. The logo uses flashing and darkness to alarm the audience. In horror films when the lights go out you know something bad is about to happen, so it is preparing you for the beginning of the film. Also in the darkness something appears and in the logo with each flash the grudge appears.
The logo starts off normal and fine but then the lights go out and it appears, this is a typical convention in ghost/demon horror films. At the end of the logo there is one light left, it is very dim and soon goes out, this creates fear because we already saw the grudge was there and now we cant see anything, we don't know where the grudge is.

Poster Inspirations - Kristy
A number of posters were insparational when I was thinking about my poster. I wanted to use the same technique that so many other horror film posters used.
One thing I notice about all these posters is that they have the threats face in the middle, the title at the bottom and a catchphrase at the top, the catchphrase is the first thing you should logically look at. Monday, 30 January 2012
Example Poster - Kristy
This is my idea of what our final poster should look like. Our poster will be using our own images and will be better quality. Our film is called death smile so its all about the smile you see before you die. On our official poster I want the face with the bloody smile on it.
I also want blood splatters across the title, too make it look more gory.
Our poster will also have a certificate on it and we want to put a catchy phrase on it.
Ideas for the phrase:
You'll know when she is coming, She will be smiling
She's happy, unfortunately for you!
We haven't decided yet!

Se7en - Kristy Simpson
http://www.artofthetitle.com/2008/03/26/se7en/
The opening sequence leaves us confused about the character. We never see his face, the most we see is his hands, so we don't know what he looks like or what he is doing, the clips are too fast to get any detail as to what he is doing.
It suggests that the character is a criminal because we see him scraping the skin off his fingers, which implies that he is getting rid of his finger prints.
Throughout the whole of the opening he is creating something, he is cutting up film and printing photos. It looks like he is creating a book/portfolio. The photos look dsiturbing, it's pictures of dead people who have been killed. From this he looks like a pyscho.

Art Of The Title - True Blood - Kristy Simpson
http://www.artofthetitle.com/2008/11/21/true-blood/
This opening sequence doesn't directly suggest that vampires are involved but from the images we can interpret meanings.
It starts with a swamp theme. Swamps are quite eerie, mysterious and generally unpleasant. To me the swamp reminds me of death because it's dark and desolate, where the vampires could hide their victims.
The wooden houses show that the town is old fashioned and in a rural area, probably not another town for miles so it is cut off from the more developed world.
The choir of women symbolise religion, also footage of a sign which says "god hates fangs" directly suggests that vampires are involved and they are known to the world. The young white children in pointy hats represent the KKK, which shows their will be racism. All these things happened in the past so we get the idea that True Blood is set in the past.
There is a small section where we see a snake strinking something, but we don't see what. This represents prey and danger. This could directly represent a vampire because a vampire is the prey and will strike its victims.
The child eating strawberries also symbolizes the vampire because he gets it all around his mouth and licks it, it looks lke blood.
There are some nude scenes in the opening sequence which suggests that there will be sexual scenes.
